The story behind the renovation 

At Woodlands, the signature dining destination at Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, Georgia, a thoughtful interior renovation brings a fresh perspective to the restaurant while celebrating its established place at the heart of the resort. Led by David Thompson Studio, the redesign draws inspiration from Barnsley Resort’s natural surroundings, creating an inviting dining experience layered with warmth, character and a strong connection to the outdoors.

Bringing the outdoors in 

Surrounded by the landscape of North Georgia, Woodlands embraces a material palette that reflects its setting. Expansive windows allow natural light and views of the grounds to become part of the dining experience, while rich woodwork, patterned wallcoverings and classic furnishings create an intimate atmosphere. 

The combination of traditional detailing and natural materials gives the restaurant a sense of heritage while introducing a refreshed look suited to contemporary hospitality. 

Rich Cocoa tones underfoot 

A defining feature of the dining space is Lattes HW2052, installed in a classic herringbone pattern throughout the restaurant. Part of our Cocoa color group, Lattes introduces rich, chocolate-inspired brown tones that complement the interior's darker timber detailing and luxurious material palette.

Inspired by the indulgence of dark chocolate and decadent truffles, our Cocoa color group celebrates the beauty of deeper wood tones. These rich, atmospheric shades bring depth, warmth and visual impact to an interior, making them particularly suited to hospitality spaces where an inviting yet sophisticated atmosphere is essential.

At Woodlands, the Cocoa-toned flooring enhances the restaurant's intimate ambiance, creating a sumptuous foundation that works beautifully alongside the patterned wallcoverings, burgundy seating and traditional wood paneling.

The rustic grade of Lattes further accentuates the natural beauty of the oak, with distinctive knots, expressive grain and tonal variation adding individuality to every plank. Arranged in a herringbone pattern, these natural characteristics become a striking design feature, bringing movement and texture to the floor while reinforcing the restaurant's connection to the outdoors.
